SEMINARS

During my stay at Cambridge I attended seminars that analyze the strategy and philosophy of the Cambridge Assessment English exams that certify English language proficiency. My specialization this year was related to the Cambridge English Young Learners exams, KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE. Part of the training was the graded evaluation of written exams for these exams from all over Europe. One of the ‘benchmarks’ was the common mistakes students make depending on their age, social background, but especially their country of origin.

From 2010-2020: Attending online short courses from Harvard University with topics:

  • Teaching and learning strategies for higher education
  • How to teach Shakespeare in class
  • Use poetry in teaching
  • Fundamentals of Academic Writing

  • Family engagement in education

Attending webinars by the British Council on:

  • A trip down the memory lane of methodology
  • An innovative way to teach ESL children phonics
  • Dyslexia for teachers of English as a foreign language
